Making the switch from compound to xbow this year. I have been using Rage Hypodermics in my compound and have 9 unused. Can I just swap out the collars for the High Energy collars and it function properly in xbow?

Bearx Constrictor. Bit of an impulse..had no intention really of buying one, and did almost no research. Was sitting at the office thinking about being unprepared for the upcoming season archery wise, then about 30 seconds after typing in amazon.com I owned a xbow.

I would think the collar is the only difference.Maybe compare boxes online or in the store.

I used them last year in my centerpoint cp400 and they worked fine harvesting two nice bucks with them.

  8. I am pretty sure the high energy collar is the only difference. You could waste one for practice, and then you would know for sure.

I've been using Rage Hypodermics with an Excalibur xbow for couple years. I'm using the red collar (they also have a black). Works great! My Vortex shoots 325FPS. I've read the "high energy" collars are typically required for 400+ FPS. If your crossbow is rated below 400FPS, the red collar will work fine.

I worked at a shop part time for a few years, we had a thing once a year called "bowfest". Dealers, reps, and the like would come in for a large tent type sale that we had/ I asked a few reps what was the difference . a couple said none, and a couple said the ferales were of a different metal . Not sure who was right, I should have asked specifically for mechanical

I bought hypodermics that were specifically for crossbows and they had the red collar. I am not sure what the FPS threshold is. I guess it would probably say on the package of collars only.
