Me too...great gun.
I've had many different muzzles through out the years..
The Knight disc was awesome! !! (Barnes red hot bullet 300 gr.)
I now shoot a Thompson center Encore muzzle and it is absolutely awesome also..
And as bucman said , "the different barrel combinations are hard to beat" !!!
I shot a lot of different bullets, but the power belt shoots good through it..
3 pellets of pyrodex (propellant/powder)
I agree. . The Knight disc is awesome! !!
Mine shot 1" groups also..
I wish i wouldn't have sold it!!!
I have a TC Encore with a walnut stock and absolutely love it! I shoot 2 - 777 pellets with a 250 grain shockwave bullet and 777 209 primers. It is extremely accurate! Best gun I own by a long shot!
My wife bought me a Traditions pursuit, Mossy oak thumbhole stock. Hornady 240 gr sst over 100 gr blackhorn 209 powder. It's a killer, I just haven't carried it to right places this year..
Oh, and Federal or CCI primers. I have had problems with Winchester primers in multiple muzzleloaders, especially their muzzleloader primers. Just not hot enough i guess. Breech plug is always clean
A nice thing too about blackhorn is you use regular solvent for cleaning. No need for water
Tc pro hunter with 250 gr shockwaves here. Wish tc went back to making real stainless muzzleloder barrels on all their stuff instead of the weather sheild stuff though
Starting to realize as I look more... they're all synthetic. Every. Single. One. Expectations are now re-aligned to reality.
Any Thompson Center...
I've got a winchester apex .45. Camo SS. Topped with a camo nikon omega ml scope. Very pretty gun for not being wood. Killed a deer Sunday as well. 777 powder, powerboat platinum bullets. Consistent 4" at 200 yards in paper.
Simple set up.
TC encore wood stock. Barnes TEZ with 110 blackthorn, CCI mag primers. muller 3-9 .All done.
If you can find a used Knight Disc Elite in excellent condition buy it. Probably the most accurate high production ML on the market. It’s too bad they quit making it.
If you can find what you want in stock configuration Boyd’s makes stocks for many muzzleloaders. You can always upgrade in the future.
I have a Knight stainless and have had zero problems over the past 12 years. Don't think they are still in production. My point is to make sure and get a stainless barrel whatever you do. I have had mine in terrible weather and haven't been the best at cleaning it and it has zero corrosion or wear.
Knight disc extreme
