Gave a good hunt Saturday and very grateful to a 13 year old dog for good hunts over the years

As in you need dogs or a spot to hunt cause I have 4 dogs if you got spots I would take them to. I have another rabbit hunt in a week but then I’m free

Have you guys found wild rabbits to be flea infested? I've done a little rabbit hunting with my lab, but I would always end up picking fleas off her afterwards. The Frontline plus take care of them, but I still find them jumping off the dog in the house hours afterward a pain.

When I do shoot rabbits I will either hang them in a tree or walk them back to the truck while the dogs are looking for another one to chase. After a half hour in a tree the fleas on the ground look like someone used a pepper grinder.

We used to hang them in a crab apple tree next to my uncle's house. We called it the "game tree". Opening day would see it full of rabbits and pheasants.

Everything out there has some sort of bug on them. Birds get a lot of bugs. Found them on every kind of game I have ever taken. It's nature.

Have you ever given archery hunting for rabbits a try ? At the end of the day you save some time not having many or any rabbits to skin.

We used to hunt small game with bows when we were kids. Never shot much game but had a blast missing!
