I’ve been here since sunup and nada. Minnows, crawlers, even tried casting my shad pattern, then a blue shad Hot n Tot. Couple boats east of here by the bridge earlier but they’re gone too.

    It’s quiet...toooo quiet

It doesn't matter where you are at on the river right now. Fish haven't moved in yet. They are running late this year. I follow the water temp and everything that goes with everyday and multiple times a day. I track everything yearly and we have been at the same conditions as last year when there were tons of fish to be caught. Last year the first of October there were plenty of fish in the river already. I've been all over the river and nothing to show for it so far and talked with people in boats and the same thing. It should have any day now and this cold front should push fish in.

I did...just as I was picking up to leave, I met Ralph headed over toward the M25 bridge. My plan was to head to Quanicasee, which he said was covered in green scum...I should have listened and just joined him by the bridge

Believe it or not I haven't fished for them years. I just thought of that when you posted it. I haven't had perch in so many years I don't know what they taste like anymore. Guess I need to go!!!

rtminc.....I usually only fish that area in November. But in my experience it is dead during the day and only heats up right at sunset. Am I wrong or is it common to do well at other times of the day?

    Call me Scott

I don’t know the answer. I got there as the sun was coming up, figuring I’d still catch a morning bite. I’ve never fished there at night

Whenever the river hits 55° is when I would be getting fish. It was that temp for a about 3 weeks.

Perch wise,I've hit fish at vets from sun up to after sun down from shore.. Walleye tend to be the last 2 hours before dark (but did have a day of 2pm smash fest back in March)..

From shore? If so, not at vets. I was there a long time for the 6 that I kept.
Nice meeting you! :) you didn't miss much, but it's starting ;) will give another try here in an hour or so. Gotta add the others enough for a meal. :) Then 2 days of jigging for eyes.
