Fishing has stayed alright, but hit or miss is the game on eyeballs. This weather has been plain irritating, with constant blowing winds of all directions. Lack of sun has sucked too. There are fish in the river and out at the mouth, but each day is different on how they’re going to turn on. Finding smolts in the bigger walleyes. Steelhead are actually pretty steady, especially in the dark water near spawning areas. While there are some bright chrome fish around, most are colored or darker. Dropbacks are numerous now. Small beads in natural hues have been my go to. I also lost a cartwheeling Atlantic on a bead behind active gravel, and saw another caught. Smallies seem to be waking up now, and suckers are slowly thinning out as well.
