Thank you. I wanted to get the hang of it before I go all out combat.

I forgot to mention something else I noticed when I was cleaning the fish. Color. Another angler who was fishing the "big" lake and happened to be cleaning some large kings (all females) when I was cleaning mine. They were mature females (egg laden) and were the exact color and weight class as the fish I caught. I never weighed the fish but I would estimate close to 20 lbs. So, in my mind they were trickling in but the rain yesterday and today will do something great!

The pm Labor Day boat parade is also going on next weekend. It has been expanded to include pm lake. Have fun everyone.

If your going to be fishing PM lake this weekend be sure you know the boundaries of the no wake zone, basically from the point at Copeyon Park to the pier heads. You may also want to brush up on marine laws. The level of enforcement may reflect recent happenings in PM Lake.
Unless you are blessed with extraordinary patience the little lake will be a good place to stay away from.

These fish confirm the size of the marks I was seeing on my CHIRP sonar. Holy moly!

No,those big males get really colored up quickly, especially when sitting in 70 plus degree water.

Yep, kings rot quickly in bath water. I'll be there and Platte Bay off and on the next few weeks. Been waiting for the water to cool down.

Dropped in yesterday morning thinking the rain and wind might push in some new recruits. Nope, still dead. Didn't hook anything and hardly marked any.

The rain at the end of last week did evict fish into the PM. A friend spoke to someone that fished Rainbow Rapids on Sunday and they went 5 for 7. When I visited BB&T last Wednesday there were no reports of Chinookies in the river.
