My dad, son and I hit a pier this morning hoping for a few chrome fish. We got a late start and got our lines set at about 7:45. After a few minutes the 1st bobber went down. I handed the rod to my 12 year old son but he lost the fish at the pier. A few minutes later a 2nd bobber went down. Below is the catch of the day. I think it was the same fish we lost earlier as it had a shrimp in its stomach.

Great Lakes browns spawn in the fall according to all the biologists I have learned from color comes from being in warm water.

Yes they do spawn in the fall, but some have a lazy habit and stick around the rivers until late spring and early summer eating steelhead eggs and salmon fry before heading back downstream to enter Lake Michigan.
