My wife and I were on the way home from Charlevoix last evening we were heading up Mitchell Street when about a dozen wild pigs crossed the road. We're were maybe a mile past Division Street. This was the first time we have ever seen pigs running wild.

Did you report that sighting to the DNR?

No ****? That's 1 1/4 from me, I'm just east of Bill Farm Market.

I've never seen any up this way. They must of come through in that low area bordered on the right by cedars. If they kept on going their going to run into a lot of homes and traffic. I'm assuming they were moving g
    South to North?

It was about half way between Bills and Division. They came out from the south and turned around as headed back as we drove up on them. We saw them at about 75 yards and couldn't tell if they had ear tags. The top of the hill was still in the sun but we were in the shadows.

We usually head north on Fletcher to avoid downtown.

Gotcha, I'm off of Fletcher and Bellmer, that's a good route to utilize if you want a back way to Pickeral Lake rd to Indian River to Cheboygan.

I sure will watch for them, I'm headed back to the jungle in a bit, but I have game cams out so I'll look close on the pics for them, I haven't noticed any rooting around but will be watching now.

Pickerel Lake to Bellmer is our route heading back. It's real nice since its been resurfaced.

Well I'm up in the hills on the south side of Bellmer, tucked way back in there loosely surrounded by homes now, but my 26 gives them a way around the homes, I just hope they don't ban hunting in that township.

I was surprised, I received a follow up call from the USDA in Gaylord. They will be in the area checking out the report of feral pigs.

    Online reporting works!

My guess is that a hobby farm lost their pigs, they would be considered fair game until the owner gets them back.

I believe the farm on the south side of the S curve still raises pigs. May want to seeing they're missing a few?

You're talking about the farm at the dead end on Fletcher rd, now you're really getting close to my close because I'm off of the s-curve, I don't believe they do. I've been up there a time or two and it's a real tidy and clean operation, if they raise pigs it's very well hidden.

without a doubt this is what happened, this happened in North Central Ohio, a few years ago and 30 of them were killed off in a matter of a few months/ a year
