We used to fish there a lot, spring too....the size of Perch on the river is/has always been a big ? for us, lol....and we always got nicer Perch in Ont. water too ....used to be 15 boats out fishing Perch in Sept, all American....anymore 5 would be a shocker....

Thanks for the report....anchoring and other silly "rules" have a bigger impact than bureaucrat's will ever understand....ehhhh....

My son and I went out yesterday with a wounded motor to perch fish mid river. We went upstream from wyandotte and sure enough the motor died before we got where we wanted to try. We decided just to drop our perch rigs over the side and fish back. The south wind held us up just enough so we could keep contact with the bottom. We started noticing huge schools of pinheads and big clouds of something that came up from the bottom to about 7 feet. I got a 10 in perch so we hit spot lock. Keep nine perch 8-10 inches. 12fow was best. We would have never perch fished there if the motor didnt break and we didnt decide to drift back. Sometimes I think we know to much and close our minds to trying something different. Great day on the water with the best fishing pal anyone could want

Always like your reports. Like you we enjoy perchin in that area. Just seems like high water changed the game in last couple years. Hopin for some fall action. Will report
