I personally am sick of being treated like some kind of idiot. I have been fishing the Saginaw Bay for 40 years. When I started there was no limit and no problem catching as many as you wanted. The main difference is back then you would see a commercial net once in a great while. Today, you cannot go out of any port without seeing commercial fishing nets lining the entire Saginaw bay. Now I ask.. What's the issue with the depleted perch population? DAH!!! Why? Possible kickbacks? Are we just going to keep punishing the sport fisherman while the commercial fisherman wipe out the perch population like they did to the walleye years ago? Get a clue!!!!!!!!

Leave the limit alone and make an open season on cormorants. They do far more damage to the population than sport fisherman. Commercial fishing is a problem as well compared to us catching 50 Perch on occasion.

25 would be fine with me but I certainly wouldn't say that's best for all.

Bingo! LSC is one of my favorite destinations for a day of ice fishing perch. I won’t make that 1 3/4 hr drive for 25 perch.

leave it a 50 sense less the 20 percent catch that many, so if you have a good day and get 50, what rarely happens some say, whats the big deal, for INLAND and great lakes to keep 50.

I wish! Alot more serious perch fisheman than me out there. I've only got 1 good meal all spring. Usually in the 20+-30+ range is my norm when they're in, which is plenty. But I'll take those 50 fish days. Only keep 8" on up, and had 2 days in a row last spring with 50, 9" on up. That was nice :).

Yup, sure is. I live by Metro Beach on LSC and there are many 100's on the island in the back basin and that's just one small population of them. I can't believe they are protected. I'm 64 now but growing up I never saw any of them here, now they are everywhere.

Don’t worry bout the limit... soon as they start finding dead perch from PWD. Perch Wasting Disease it will be catch them all in designated zones.
