Been a while since I've seen your pics ! Very, very RAD, AS ALWAYS
Every morning over the last month or so that I've been trout fishing at day break, there's been at least a couple of owls calling back and forth. On a few occasions there's been 3 or more.
Now when I hear them, I'm going to recall your photos. Great pics.
For close up shots, try a store bought feeder mouse with an aligator clip and string on its tail to keep it in one spot.
Those short eared owls are pretty easy to call in with lip squeaks as well.
