Looking to give my father a Christmas present. Would love to hear where to do a public land duck hunt or a cheap outfitter. Thank you all in advance!

Kansas has a lot of public ground if you do your research.

Hutch is pretty populated area, a suburb of Wichita. Just a bit north and west of Wichita. There are some great spots nearby though.

Cheney reservoir is just south a bit and has a lot of public area. Got a lot of friends that hunt that area a bit further west and south.

An old Swedish community to the northeast with some pretty awesome spots I used to pheasant hunt. Always saw deer.

Like most of KS you'll find a pocket that holds a lot of cover. There might not appear to be much around it that could hide a jackrabbit, but when you look closer, there's game everywhere.

The SE, NW parts of the state has significantly more woods. Areas like the Flint hills, Chautauqua hills are prime areas.

CRP areas in the SW, NE, central parts around river basins are amazing what they contain. Besides the WHIP walk-in areas or managed game areas though there is not a lot of public access.

Door knocking can work and might be really rewarding. Wildlife and Parks can help too. Reach out to them.
