October 29th, 2020 I have had the best year of big deer sightings in daylight hours ever. I have watched 4 different buck fights, had 4 encounters with big bucks with no shots, and I have had a ball. Well, I had a camera in a bedding area for the last 1 1/2 months that is in the heart of our property. I decided to go in and check it on the 28th to see what is still hanging and I got two nice bucks in daylight hours, so the next day I chose to go 300 yards south of the bedding to an old stand that butts right up to that bedding. The jungle you have to walk through is crazy to get to this overgrown pine/walnut field, but I did my homework and cut that out before September 1. As I reached the stand I jumped a deer directly under my stand, great!!! But, I am here so lets go!!! Was 4:15, wind is perfect North wind at 12mph. Decided to rattle with zero responses but was very noisy. I decided at 5:15 to hit my horns hard and end with a snort wheeze. 2 minutes later I see a wide buck down in this bowl coming my way, he hits a small rub, keeps working my way. He gets 30 yards and now he HAS to come by me, so he started to my left, stopped behind a pine tree, then turned to my right looking for those bucks. He was 23 yards and I shot him right behind the shoulder and watched the arrow pass through and blood instantly coming out. He went right back into the bottom and minutes later heard a deer blowing, so I know he was down. The Camaraderie of friends coming on track, to finding him, to going back to barn is just priceless. I have pics of this buck in small velvet, to full velvet, to shredded velvet, to hardbone, and now kill pic. I am very blessed to say the least!!!
