Anybody seeing birds in West Michigan Kalamazoo area? I've tried all the public spots and haven't seen squat...

Traditionally the 3rd week of November is when the rivers down there fill up or when the potholes start to ice up.

I feel like I hear this every year about the west side of the state, then towards the end of the regular season a few guys start posting pictures of field hunts out there with 5 man limits of greenheads.

Every year we shed tears right around this time saying it's all over only to be shooting limits in the last week and during the split.

That’s when traditionally for whatever reason the best mallard hunting is. Generally 3rd week of Nov. or so until the end. It’s been like that for as long as I can remember.

The sky line was filled Sunday morning for a little bit. I wish it wasn't overcast/hazy where we were at. It was an awesome sight to see. The past couple years sitting in that vary spot I have witnessed this.

We are still shooting locals in SE. Shot 4 banded mallards last weekend all banded within 15 miles of where we were hunting.

The last 2 days there have been huge flocks of flight ducks on Lake Missaukee They were far enough out I could not tell what kind they wereand yesterday there was a lot of geese. There was also a couple hundred mallards next to shore
