Tried the middle channel for walleye yesterday morning and this guy hit on the first drop. Put on a nice show with 5 aerials. He hit a morning dawn fin-s and the jig popped out as soon as he hit the net. Now I just have to decide whether to smoke it or grill it. We picked up a couple of walleye on the same drift, but then only had a short and a snag after that.

I'm far from an expert on id'ing salmon/trout so I welcome the education. It was a male but how do I tell coho? I thought steel because of the spots on the whole tail, also the mouth was whiter before it darkened up in the box.

Sent from my SM-N960U using Michigan Sportsman mobile app

No expert by far, but tail doesnt look square enough for steelhead and the head doesnt look rounded enough, but could just be the angle on the head. If I had to guess I would say coho, but I usually just call them dinner :)
