Duramax. To get me there.
I hate this forum, always finding new toys that I “need”
Just ordered some more sitka gear, water bladder and trekking poles. Trekking poles will be new for me to try as everyone seams to recommend them. Already picked up a new Kifaru bag and some belt pouches....down sizing from the T2 bag. Probably will get the Inreach this spring and that should do it for gear. Shopping season, training season then hunting season.....I'm good at the first one at least.
What kind of water bladder did you get? I'm in the market for a new one but have done no research to date. All recommendations welcome.
Check out Camo fire they have black Ovis on there from time to time in the 20 dollar range. I bought a 2 liter from them that I like.
I ordered a Platypus bladder. I haven't received it yet to give my own review but everything I read was positive. The biggest thing was ease of cleaning an no plastic taste......so "they" say.
I have this one, I don't particularly care for it, Loading it is a pain. I like the bladders that load from the end and close of with a clip
I have this one also in a 3l I like it but the hose and mouth piece end is coming apart from each other. Baen Sendi Hydration Bladder 3 Liter
This one is my favorite
The model I ordered was the 3L Platypus big zip reservoir. Supposedly very easy to load and clean. My first go round with bladders so learning as I go. I will still have a bottle on my belt as well.
Wait, What!?!? Down?
Yeah, I know right. But at just under 2 lbs, and 10 degree rating I thought I would give it a try. Besides, you and tony are bringing one. lol. Its a great bag, with 850 goose down fill, its even water resistant down lol
If I get cold and wet it will be your fault Huntmaster
I haven't had any trouble with hydrophobic down so far. I have a sleeping bag and some kuiu superdown that's worked out great for me. BUT... I have only been in truly nasty weather on one trip with this gear so it hasn't been tested nearly enough
Hopefully a 450 Bushmaster or something with less recoil than my 870 12 gauge for SLP deer hunting.
Maybe a 760 rifle, and I'm purposely staying out of the bow shops cuz I know I'll walk out with a new!
Guy came to deer camp last year with a beautiful Great Lakes Edition Silverado!
I told him not to come next year cuz he's making me want one!
