MI DNR hunting regulations mentions an exception is in place for zone 3 that is open to all firearms.
Does that mean one could use a bushmaster 450 during the upcoming muzzleloader season in lower MI?

They have been doing that in the core CWD area in zone 3 for a couple years. This year it's open in Non-CWD areas.

As long as those firearms fit into the restrictions then yes.

    Your bushmaster afaik fits.

Yet the restrictions end on Dec 1.
So is my .308 good to go? I have no intentions of using my .308.

Seemingly not, yet certain centerfires are allowed.

There are different rules in zone 3 and the limited firearms zone. They do overlap so you had better know where you are at if you are planning on using a 308 for deer.
