had some fast and furious coho action a few weeks ago. But once again for a couple years straight there are very very few kings coming into Muskegon. Even with the perfect conditions we've had for a while now.

The new normal is definitely not very fun in Muskegon. Seems like there is one push in August on a flip and that is about all you can count on. Other than last year (maybe I just missed it) there has been a late September push too. I have a couple more trips of disappointment left in me but it sure has been frustrating again!

How many years will it take to realize that something has changed? Maybe next year will be better..............

2017, 2018 and 2020....Muskegon system.....no plants...get used to it. Next year there will be a few planted adults....then zippo. Hopefully 2021 they will increase them. Also need to look at planting up at Newaygo instead of Mkg Lake.....that or get an explanation as to why the change to net pens in Mkg Lake was done....and whether any significant amount of fish actually head upriver or not when planted in net pens not near the spawning grounds.

Thursday the 10th was 5 for 7, Friday the 11th was 1-4 and yesterday the 14th was 3-4. It’s my first year fishing Lake Michigan, but doesn’t seem all that terrible to me.

7 out of 8 of those kings had no adipose clip.

I know it is not like what I used to read about but there are some fish to catch.

Those could very well be White River bound fish.
