I’m not a prolific deer slayer by any means but trying to recall all the deer I’ve shot and I can only recall shooting 4 in the morning. All the rest have been in the evening. Of the last 6 I’ve killed 1 was in the AM the rest PM

    Cool thread idea!
Wasn't sure if this was total deer, or just bucks. So I did bucks because I'm partial to them :p. Also have to say that by working 1st shift for the last 20+ years, I've definitely had more opportunities to hunt in the afternoons than in the morning. Especially weekdays, if it looked like a good night to hunt, I just went after work. My am hunting is mostly limited to weekends. & 1 "morning" buck was shot @ 11:45am of a planned all day sit.
2013-2019 am VS pm buck harvest

I definitely perfer to bow hunt more evenings, simply because I can do it after work.... so I've (by default) shot more then, too.

But, I do love the morning hunts... bow hunting, its about getting in well before daylight, dark as heck, and watching the sun slowly rise and the critters start moving.... that said, I have shot very few at first light. If I'm hunting in the morning, its usually a longer sit, because by late October into the first 2 weeks of Nov.. 10:30 to 11am can become gold.

Gun season, I actually sleep in a bit, make breakfast, then head out with a full belly... but I don't generally hunt stands with a gun. I love still hunting, and later morning into mid day is just awesome for that. By evening, you've finally made it to where you want to be and then you just wait out the sunset.

Most of my kills are in the PM but I can hunt the PM 7 days a week October and most of November if i wanted but can only hunt 1 or 2 AM's a week without using vacation days. If I hunted equal times AM and PM I would say its a toss up.

in 39 hunting seasons.... 40 kills in the evening and 35 kills in the morning.
As I age, I actually enjoy the morning sits more, but somehow seem to get more frequent hunts in during the evenings. I justify it by convincing myself to let my kids go ahead and hunt the morning so I can brew some coffee and have breakfast ready when they come in from the hunt. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The majority of antlered deer I have shot have been in the PM. I tend to shoot anterless in the AM. This is due to my worry of tracking.

In October I hunt food sources and evenings far out pace mornings for antlered bucks. I often get chances at does and button bucks hunting mornings near cover. Starting the 1st of November or a few days before I do well in mornings and mid mornings hunting runs or scrape lines between bedding areas. It is awesome shooting deer in the morning.

I hunt religiously morning and afternoon (evening); pretty much rain or shine.
My last 10 deer (5 doe, 5 bucks) going back to to 2015. Three in the AM (2 doe, 1 buck), and seven in the evening (4 bucks, 3 doe).
My last 10 bucks, going back to 2008.. 4 in the morning, 6 in the evening.
I have a feeling over time it is pretty even though...

I see more in the morning my golden time is 8:30 10 am I can’t sit
Much past 10. I am out there at 6 am. I have sat noon to 2 than back out 3 to dark. I keep telling myself go out later but I never do. Evening I see them more at last light.

More rutting activity in am for me. That's said I believe I'm 3 a.m 7 p.m for last 10. More time to hunt evenings.
