It doesn't mater much on this issue anyway. I'd be shocked if the governer signs this bill. She is anti gun and anti hunting so any expanse that way will be a no go.

What makes you think she's anti hunting? I read that a lot here on the forums. I've never seen it backed up. Sounds like right wing propaganda. Is she an animal rights vegan? Lmao

Mostly that she has support from peta and has voted against hunters and for more gun laws involving hunting guns more than a few times. So you have no argument. Even though I hope this one doesnt get signed

Page 22 of the Hunting Digest.
All legal firearms in the Limited Firearm Zone, and Oceana, Newaygo, Mecosta, Isabella, Midland, and Bay counties.
What about the rest of the state?

You already know more so why challenge it. Why not let grenade launchers..claymores...and flamethrowers be legal during bow season? Why limit me? And the section of state you can you any weapon during muzzle loader has over 50% of the guysbhunting in it so again. Why call it muzzy season. Why restrict the number of deer people can shoot. Why restrict the number of fish than can catch?

    You certainly have a point.

    Definition of archery
1: the art, practice, or skill of shooting with bow and arrow

Definition of bow (Entry 3 of 6)

2: a weapon that is used to propel an arrow and that is made of a strip of flexible material (such as wood) with a cord connecting the two ends and holding the strip bent

Now, crossbows and compound bows certainly fit the definition of the above. Doesn't matter their cost or technology.

Now, some may claim, what if they call the air gun a air bow? Well, they can call it what they want, but it doesn't fit the definition of bow.

    Definition of archery
1: the art, practice, or skill of shooting with bow and arrow

This product, doesn't fit the definition of "bow" As we see by definition. By definition of archery, you need both an arrow and bow. Seems we come up one object short.

I am all for it being a usable weapon, but you have to define weapon somewhere based on logical previous standards. Which should lead to them being placed in proper categories.

Why not let the Legislature, NRC, and DNR decide the rules?

The goal is to kill more deer, and retain more hunters. If vertical bow and crossbow weren't cutting the mustard, this is what we get.
