Mayfly Hatch on Burt and Mullet Lake

    Lucky you We're camping and they are having sewage system issues so no bathrooms right now. My uncle just got home and was catching the Walleyes on the north east side of the lake. He said the mayflies were covering the lake the last two days.

    Used to stay at the landings every year but it's not the same anymore. I used to catch walleye right in the river pulling harnesses. This was during the fishfly hatch. All eater size. Now if I went back I would be looking to beat my unofficial what could have been a state record smallie 24" 8 pounds. I released that fish immediately. My dad can attest as he was there when I caught it. I went back to that very spot trying to catch more with some crayfish but no takers... ahh the memories...
