The Cisco are being planted as a food source.

I'd have to start killing alot of salmon, that's what would happen...

Here's my report. Go out of ludington. Drive north west for hours. Then turn around and drive for hours. Hope you catch something besides nasty lake trout.

Got a 28 pound king out of Ludville tonight. South wind had already started to warm the lake back up. Tonight our surface temp was 70 plus where guys said it was 51 this morning.

Fishing the tournament out of Ludington this week. Kings are scattered but there are a few around.
There are a lot of boats fishing the remaining tournaments and I'm sure there will be some beauties brought in to the scales. 20200715_132540.jpg

Tough bite today for the Ruboy Thursday. Most boats struggled to get 5 fish to weigh, let alone 5 kings. It seems that first hour of twilight is key right now. Fast boats are shooting to the hot spots and hopefully getting a few bites before it shuts down. Yesterday was a dark day and we got into a few before they shut down.
We only had 1 king bite today, and he came unbuttoned. Landed a good 12 or so pound laker, a 4 ish steel and a 2 lb king. Lost 2 other smallish salmon.

Went Friday everyone hauled ass to the north, looked like a discovery channel show on salmon wars in Alaska. We caught a 15lb King, then everyone splits out in every direction but east to look for trout. threw 2 kings back that would have been happy in an aquarium, and put 9 lakers in the boat.
local captain on the HIATUS is the only guy crushing up there.

We were one of those boats heading to the north you saw. Worst I seen it first skunk ever. The fish are not here in any numbers. Hope some show. Offshore classic ended day one at 1030 am because of waves. Today was cancelled. Sportsman won. Hiatus won big boys tournament.

We suspected the tournament would be shortened, so ran for trout first. The plan was to switch to a salmon program after boating our 9 trout limit. Unfortunately we only had 7 when it was called. Had to pull lines and go like hell to make it back in the piers by 10:30. It was good enough for 8th place in the Pro division. There were some beauties taken for sure, but they aren't coming easy.
