I was recently at a Field and Stream store in Ohio. Had an area of clearance priced ammo . There was 8 boxes of Remington 300 Savage . Was originally marked $35.99, reduced to $19.99. Sign said 25% off . Didn't figure with original price being $35.99. So I took all 8 boxes . At checkout there was 25% off the 19.99 , so I ended up paying $14.99 a box . I shoot a Savage model 99 and my wife had a Remington 722 in 300 Savage . Could not beat that deal . Ohio does not allow rifles for deer (except straight wall) so will explain this . Not popular here . We hunt our property in northern Michigan . Great cartridge for us .

I've made 300 Sav brass from LC match cases. I load these with 4064 and 150 gr Speer FN Hot-cor.. I get actual velocities at 2650 out of 22 inch barrels in a couple of different rifles. Accuracy is great in the rifles I have used this load in..

Sportsman warehouse in Troy has Remington as well. Not sure which calibers as I reload my own.

Not a bad price on those. Knowing about how old you are...I'm guessing that was your Dad's ammo.

That's funny.. I never noticed the price on that until you pointed it out.
Yes, got it from my dad (pre-dates me by quite a few years).
I've got some of those old paper shotgun shells laying around somewhere as well.
