I just purchased a Helix 5 sonar for the bow of my Lund.

Looked up front and found a set of unused electrical connections but when I checked the voltage I found 24 volts.

Tried looking on line for a wiring diagram but didn't find anything specific to the Lund 1775 Impact.

Is there another point I can connect up front or would it be better to snake a wire back to the starting battery? Don't like the idea of a power wire just sitting in the bottom of the hull where it could corrode over time.

The Terrova is 24 volt. Can I connect the 12V power to the helix to just one of the trolling motor batteries?

Thanks for any input or advice!

Rechecked power to the connectors under the bow. Got 12V 2 times.
Not sure how I got 24v the first time....
might be time to make an appointment with the Ophthalmologist!!!:lol:

    Problem solved!

There’s always 12V at the bow for the navigation light up there.

Didn't have to tap into the navigation lights.

Found 12V connectors pre-wired at the bow checked them with a test meter again and they were 12V. Got power hooked up and working.

I have the same boat. Do you have helix hooked to trolling motor? By chance have a picture of setup. Was going to put one on my impact. Currently have helix and Lowrance set for trolling with both transducer in rear. Wanted to put helix 5 on bow hooked to terova and possibly link to my helix 9.

I found a pair of pre-wired connectors on the starboard underside of the bow. I double checked the voltage and found I did in fact has 12V. There was an empty slot in the fuse block. After putting a 5A fuse in I got power to the connectors.
Yes , my Terrova has a built in transducer. There is a pre-wired connector for the Helix at the bow. They sold me an adapter to connect the Helix to the Terrova transducer
