LFTS 10/30/19

Well awoke to the pitter patter of rain. It wasn't supposed to be here till noon according to the weather report. Looks like an all day thing so I'm sitting out today. I could stay inside and get started on our remodeling or go duck hunting. QUACK QUACK that's my decision. Good luck to everyone hunting today.

I’m live from the shop. Anyone brave enough to go out this morning? Hope you remembered your life jackets!!!! Looks like a couple of crappy days ahead should make for a great weekend!

 

Watching it rain right now. Not sure it's worth going out in it.

Start my vacation today and I don’t mind sitting in the rain ... but it’s really coming down in Genesee county!!

 

Gonna be a perfect FRIDAY after this 2 day rain fest!!!

Hey guys. I have another beginner question. I know that nobody *prefers* to sit in the rain, but how do the deer feel about it? I got rained on all last weekend and I was in the woods/field for over 24 total hours. While it was raining, I had no action. It was only during the breaks in rain that I saw deer BUT I'm allowing for the fact that it seemed to stop raining during morning and evening times and that's generally best for deer. My schedule dictates tonight as being my best chance to get out for the next week but if it's sleeting, are the deer just bedded down?

Also, I just got one of those solo tree climbers that has the braided cable around the tree and the v at the bottom that digs into the bark to secure you up there.... Will that still be safe to use in garbage weather?

I'm actually lfts. Been set up in the blind for about 20 minutes. Light rain here. Planning to so all day. Probably the quietest 1/2 mile walk in I've ever made.

Ground size that sucks about that buck last night. I had my #1 get hit by a car a few days ago south end of my section.

 

WTH is this creeping crud thing you have and is it contagious?
