Not a hair this morning. I don’t know what it is but the last two years my son has hunted during the regular seasons, he hasn’t seen anything. We’re on private land in a well placed blind with good wind, and it’s rare if I don’t see a few deer each sit. We’ll sit a while longer and leave before the storms roll in. Hopefully this front will put a dee in range tomorrow.

That only happens when I am in the office and really jonesin to get in the woods...
Leaving BY 3pm today. Tuesday night had an encounter with a good one that I hope does something similar but 5-10 yards different tonight...or tomorrow morning. I hate to pressure him but he is hanging in an easy to access locale on public and is leaving too much sign for me to be comfortable with....one other person finding the sign and the opportunity will be gone...

Just climbed in 20 minutes ago, the wind is starting to pick up and it’s raining lightly. Going to enjoy the woods for a few hours.

Uh-oh. I hope that isn't the same big boy that I've been watching and just hoping I can get close to (on public) before somebody else does.

Back home and get gear ready for tomorrow.
Only saw 2 deer. Big doe and a fawn with spots. Had them both @ 12 yards for several minutes. Strange that the momma came in first and the fawn stayed back. Had release hooked up and almost drew on her until I saw her baby.
Really glad I didn’t shoot her...she’s not going anywhere so might be a target for late season.

Dogs and buddies were happy. Shot a 2 man limit of mallards. Way too many hens I’ll be the first to admit but we killed what came into the decoys. 3 guys and trafficked them into an alfalfa field. I’ll always be a ton better at waterfowl hunting but man I’m excited to be in the stand tomorrow!
