My boy's 1st ever turkey hunt & we got 1 hammering on the roost!
(Come on turkey Gods)
Best of luck!
Good luck to all heading out!!
Just had a close call here in Grand Traverse County. I have been working birds all morning, lots of gobbles but nothing wanted to commit. Had a Tom sneak in on me while I was working other birds, saw just a glimpse of him as he crested a small rise. Luck wasn't on my side, as I was getting myself into position another hunter walked up, he saw the bird from the road. I waved my hat to reveal my location but it must have been too late. He literally left but the birds all went silent and disappeared.

Well I had an exciting morning, lots of gobbling behind me, called in 4 Jake's at 7:30, had my gun on each one at 25 yards, couldn't grow a long beard on any of them! Couldn't get my phone out of my pocket to take a picture, they came by my decoy.
Great to be in the woods and hear all of the spring sounds, I saw one deer, 1
rabbit and two squirrels, a hawk but no crows!
7:55 am- Hey buddy, he's coming!
BEST DAY EVER!
Congrats great bird and picture.Bet he will be happy to go to school and show the pictures
