Snowing pretty good right now, had 3 birds hammer back at my soft calls off the roost this morning and went after them. Could never catch up to them and they ended up over the line to the west, so we went back to the blind to stay dry, Mrs. F is the only one left with a tag and I’m working hard at getting a first bird for her on Mother’s Day, don’t know how this snow will impact the birds but we are here until 9:30 or so. Seems like we are it today, starting to question why we are sitting in this awful weather. Thank god for the blind to keep us dry......I told Mrs F that I would take her to the green house today for flowers, guess I take he to the Hardware for a snow shovel. Flight
I went out to sit and watch this morning and saw several birds. I had a tom gobbling right after day break behind me. My weather isn't like yours though, 40 degrees and no snow but it's looking like rain soon. Hang tough and you'll get her a bird.
So I’m considering going out and getting the snow off my deke’s but I know as soon as I do it’s going to be a mistake. Flight
Was up early this morning to start a brisket on the smoker. The youngster never budged. Cold and snow up here, not too bad right now, but definitely better days to take him out on. Probably do an armed scout this afternoon before supper.
Today was my first year and second day of turkey hunting for me.. Ive scouted some public land and happened to find a promising location. Went out this morning got two toms to answer my call right at fly down then took about 30 mins to get one to get in distance. Im proud to say i bagged my first bird..
Very Nice Bird!! And what was the first thing I said? What a sweet looking 1100. My first nice gun was a 1100 in 16ga. Just something about them as pretty as they were they were just as tough!! Oh and that one punched in and went to work!!!
