Those are beauties Ben!!
water was down to 44.8 degress on the lake this morning. only picked up 3 this morning 5' down in 16' of water the sun peaked out and they where gone.
Finally loaded this pic. Found the Specks @ 15 ft. in 21 fow. Slip Bobs and small plastics tipped with waxworms. Specks ran the gills off and proceeded to gorge. Had a blast. Get out fellas the cooler temps seemingly is turning them on. Tight Lines ! Cropido aka Ben Out !!!
I love it!!!!!!!
p.s Went out again Tuesday. Caught six fish in 2.5 hrs. Bite had slowed waaay down. Marked some fish though enticing them to bite was beyond my abilities . The saga continues
Slow bite !!! Nice day Ben Out !!!
Still a beautiful mess Ben!!
look what moved in to my crappie hole.
Matt looks like there are a couple crappie in that belly!!
lol yes 2 about 5 inches long
That had to be a blast Matt. You saved a ton of Specks with that catch. Tight Lines ! Ben Out !!!
Used some tips from Ben's post on positioning my 64 oz jig and did well yesterday. Found them in some timber in 5 feet of water. It was a bay that I thought was to shallow but there were a couple depressions that held fish. Lots of minnows around so the specks are in as well.
Will be hitting a lake this coming weekend I haven't fished in a few years but was loaded with 7 inch fish then. Hope to find some big ones in there now. Then on to Montmorency County to try Tomahawk Lake which has some flooded timber. Always exciting adventure to try a new lake. Pics to follow??? Went to my regular lake this past weekend and couldn't find a crappie all bass, pike, bluegill and perch.
It's the small details that can make or break a trip I've found. Knots ... hooking baits... type of bobbers used in certain situations ect. You are " da man " Paul. Spekkin is what we do ! Thanks for sharing your experiences. 5 fow is deep to the Crappie @ times. 64th. oz jig ... Rocket Bob equals a slooow falling bait. Can take an eternity to fall 5 ft. Gives those teeners a chance to look it over and strike. Details !!! Tight Lines to you all. Feeling like Im on a collision course with some Slabbs. Cropido aka Ben Out !!!
