We shot 2 last night. Both lessers.

We are extreme SE Michigan and it looks like we have lost the vast majority of our birds. Yesterday we saw maybe 20 from 2:30 on. Was hoping for some birds to move north with this warm spell but not looking good. Lake Erie is wide open from southern winds yesterday. Lots of open water for waterfowl.

    Anybody seeing birds???

SW MI has em right now feeding heavily at about 4:45 but there is snow coming so they're gunna go! We will get under them this evening.

Quite a few on the Ford property in Dearborn. My guess is roosting in the open Rouge River

The geese I found yesterday were all on rivers, creeks and Lake Erie. There were not many.
Sitting here wasting time overlooking a bunch of bigfoots.
Thank goodness we have a heater.
Trying to get my 13yo sport some shooting.
May have to go for bunnies.

You think this snow will push their feeding earlier? I'm on the fence for a mid morning / noon start until late afternoon, or 2 until last shot.

If the last few days were "dry" and we get a snow they will move early to get to crop before it's covered. The barometric pressures get them antsy too, I'd say get out before 1:00. If it's snowing they will move back and forth just make sure you blind doesn't look like everyone else's!

A fairly good rule of thumb that I go by for late season birds. Sunny skies and the last hour is best. Overcast and 10 am to 5 pm should have good movement.

Good pile of them on Ford Lake @ 94 today... Didn't see a thing flying from Erie to Brighton today.

Saw a high flock getting out of dodge while I was at work today at about 4:30. Headed straight south. ImageUploadedByOhub Campfire1517625290.108839.jpg

Bird numbers cut by 50% today. Very disappointing

Cutting wood last night a flock 150 strong was headed south bound and not being quiet about it either. Lots of high pitched racket, so I'm guessing they were small birds. Was actually looking for snows or blues in the flock.

Ended the season on a high note. Not sure if we will hunt next weekend or not yet. Saw 300+ geese and all of 350-400 mallards. Cool being under them but it’s pretty sad you can’t hunt them. Buddy has only saw 100-150 geese leading up to last night so I’m thinking there was a small push of birds. 3 shy of our 5 man limit on super smart geese, can’t complain there. Geese cooperated fantasticly tonight. Ended 2 shy of 5 man, could have easily had it but we were trying to get a few huge groups of specks to commit and they just wouldn't do it even with birds standing in the decoys.
