Please post recent net locations
Please add date, Port, approximate distance/direction from said Port, depth and GPS numbers
In response to all the “likes” I would like to add I would not trust the info posted!
No, no not you guys posting positions, but where they will show up next!
Ok, cool they’re in front of the mansion... no! These clowns will place them wherever they can make some coin!
Don’t be mislead by these coordinates!
I understand this is an older post but just wanted to let everyone know that they found the gentleman(Kenny) that got caught in these ******** nets in December. The family can finally have closure.
Thanks for the update on this situation.
RIP to the deceased and continued prayers for the family!!
Was this reported by the local news? I’m curious as to where & when. Thanks
Monroe News reported the body was washed ashore near Ford Beach Monday afternoon. They are waiting for a confirmed identification via dental records. The initial incident happened in December.
It is good that the Family can have closure.
Posting net coordinates is good, but nothing replaces having a high level of awareness, when you are operating a boat. No thing. Companies move their nets, and have been doing it for a very long time. Boat Operators need to pay attention ALL of the time, when they are underway. Please be careful, then be more careful, while you are having fun.
Saw from the Luna Pier pier that nets were being placed off Woodtick south of Luna Pier. Don't have exact coordinates but there are a minimum of 2 and likely 3 nets out there in the area.
Heads up. They were outfitted with very new looking flags....
The northern most net at 12 fow is N41 47.78W83 26.156, the southern most one N41 46.496 W83 25.702 at 14 row. These are orange flags at the deepest side of nets that run to shore. Still a hazard as far as I am concerned.
Post pics please
Did not take any Jim. The flags are are visible but the floats between are very small .
I fish out of Luna pier. Stupid question....who puts those nets there and what are they “catching?”
