Keep your net from sinking. Big pool noodle on handle. Saw a video where Capt had net with a small buoy on it. Noodle works. I tested these in a pond. IMG_20200720_123438485_HDR.jpeg

Thanks for the idea. Just need to find a black or grey noodle instead of the red or orange one that tells everyone something is up.

Or just pull net out every 5 minutes to wash it.....to give about 40 extra false positives a day.

It would be cool if a net manufacturer sprayed closed cell foam into the inside of the handle.

Color me stupid but I keep my net from not sinking by not dropping it in the river or a lake! Just a thought..

I have one that has the foam sprayed into the handle. I bought it years ago. Don't know if it works as I have never dropped it

Kids use mine... spotted the pool noodle idea a few years ago, works great.

As to letting others know...the kid whooping usually does the trick ;)

Yea, if I had kids at home now I'd make sure mine float too!

I had a buddy that donated one "Lying Tamer Ruler" to the Tittabawassee. It got caught in the net and when he was capturing a fish the ruler hit the water and we watched as it floated to the bottom behind us. Lost track after a couple of feet due to turbidity.

I always fill my net handles with "Great Stuff" expanding foam insulation. If you have a net with an adjustable length handle, then the pool noodle is best. :banana

Would imagine crack filler would work too
