For those of you who are old enough to remember ABC's "American Sportsman" TV show, the name Joe Brooks may be familiar. Or you may recognize it if your a historian of fly fishing.

Anyway, today was a pretty nice day here in MD for February, and I took a drive to fish one of Joe's favorite streams in MD - Big Hunting Creek. It's a rather tough stream to fish, all catch and release wild browns, although it looks more like your typical brookie creek.

Despite the mild temps (mid 50's) the water temp was still down (39) and the browns didn't show much interest in any of my wets or nymphs. But it was fun though getting rid of some of the winter rust and prepping for when the trout fishing starts in earnest.

Here's a few photos, including Joe's Memorial. I enjoyed reading the Creed and thought I'd share... memorial.jpg creed.jpg
