Ok, been doing well on the crappie, brother comes out and catches a monster. 16.5
Sweet!!! Gotta love it when you put in all the time fishing, finding the sweet spots and then brother comes along and hooks the Big One! LOL! Congrats to him though, always nice to catch a fish that only comes along every so often in Michigan waters.
Anyone recommend a fish taxidermist in the area?
That's a helluva fish. I don't care who catches it as long as I'm around to witness it! You put him on the spot; nice work as a guide!
I'm the older brother so pretty much taught him everything he knows
Natures Pride Taxidermy...
I hooked into something on Devil's over the weekend that I fought for 15 mins before it broke me off. Darn 2lb test line!
They do fish? Couldn't find any examples
My son and I hit the ice one last time yesterday and had decent luck on Devils Lake. The bite didn’t turn on until 10:30 or so. Loved watching him pull in two of his biggest crappie ever caught.

YEAH , ONLY WENT OUT ONCE , BEEN OVER 30 YEARS SINCE THAT HAPPENED!
Changing the water from ice to salt has always been my therapy for bad ice years. Took three dang days for the small craft warnings to disappear though. Oh well, better than work!
Next year will be better guys! Stow your gear and get in the soft water!
Did a water temp check last Saturday (11/7). Outside temps were gorgeous (mid 70s).
Water temp (about 3-4 inches below surface): 50.09 F.
Channels and ponds iced over this morning, getting the itch
I saw some ice too on the way home around 2:30 in the afternoon on some farm ponds. Can hardly wait.
