I bottled the Smoked Porter last week. I picked up the ingredients for an IPA a couple days later. It was a beautiful day, so I decided that it was a brew day.

Happiness is a bubbling air lock.

    Fermentation is in full swing.

Was this a kit or you put the recipe together? Extract based? steeping grains?

It was a kit by Brewer's Best. It came with the grains, liquid malt extract, as well as dry malt.

Nice. I don't brew much in the summer months. I currently have a nut brown ale and an American ale on tap.

Although I do need to get off my butt and brew two batches for a Labor Day party that I usually supply the beer for.

I hope you’re not leaving that lid on the boil kettle during the boil!

No, I do not use a lid during the boil. I put that lid on to help maintain my sparge water temperature.
