I'm surprised that not more than 80 agreed to participate in the study.
    Thanks for posting.

I wonder why, with so many people who were in England when the "Mad Cow" disease thing was going are, that there is no testing done on those of use who were there.

All they did was stop us from donating blood or organs, no kind of follow up. Why is that?

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29887136 is a recent review.
Besides not giving organs or blood, what would you have the medical community do?
Spending taxpayer money on studies where the number of quality-adjusted person-years saved per dollar spent is approximately zero is not wise use. We'd rather kill or prevent some tumors, halt Alzheimer's, have MS disappear, eradicate HPV, and ten other things. I have a special hatred of Meduloblastomas and ten other flavors childhood brain cancers. By John Snow's liver, we must do better.

I'm giving platelets on Tuesday, and gave blood about 2 weeks ago. For those able, do it. There are no "do you eat deer" questions, so that's no excuse.

Have they ever determined how many prions it takes for it to be a lethal dose in deer?

Whatever is in like 2000 gallons of urine lol. But seriously, I thought the prions grow once the animal is infected. False?

There were no prohibitions on blood, or organ, donations until AFTER I completed the donation of my 10th gallon, what changed after all those years? Was it strictly a "lawyer" thing?

I donate regularly and every time i go in they add more stipulations to donating .Just covering their butts .Sad part is they lose donations .I have seen a big decline in my area in the last few years .

Nope. One person, not a very new theory, nobody can reproduce the results, and a mountain of experiments saying it's the miss-folded protein that is the infectious agent. That doesn't prove he's wrong, but it tends to make one skeptical. Unless you are selling ads.

there is a new study out that says the prions appear after the deer is infected. the cure has been found by this researcher. but as of now it must be injected or up the nose is what I understand. they have plans to try to cure the illness over the next few yrs. they also have devised a new test kit the hunter carries to test the deer in the field.

I'll be honest one of my fellow employees brought me jerky this year from a deer he had shot in high CWD county and it's still up in the cupboard untouched!
