I just purchased the unit. Does anyone have any reviews or tips yet. There isn't a whole lot of real world videos or setup tips yet. I've seen a few on you tube. But they don't explaijn a whole lot.

I'm not sure what the g2 is but if it's like my regular helix I can help a little. Go into your sonar settings and turn ice fishing mode on. Set your beam at 200. Keep the sensitivity low and adjust until you start marking your jig. I keep my backlight set on black with the brightness down low and I can get a full day and a half out of a full charge.

If you hit menu twice it gets to full menu. Under sonar turn on ice fishing mode. When fishing hit menu once after you see the auto depth set your bottom depth and switch to a black back screen. Mess with color and sensitivity. Once set hit view to split the screen the left zoomed in and right full water column. I can't remember everything with out having the unit in front of me. Took an hour on ice to get it perfect.

I used to have the lowrance elite 4. My buddy was using it. Not even close. The hummingbird was hands down better in every way. No delay. Aweso me target separation. Super clear and detailed screen. Zero interference.

I didn't. I like to see the history... and watch the fish raise and drop to my jig. There was zero delay super impressed with the unit.

Ordered a Helix 7 Ice. Been backordered and got word it will be delivered on Thurs.
Being used to a vex I will probably use the split screen with both the dial and scroll screen to see how that goes.

Don't forget to watch your bobber once in a while. Won't be long and you'll shut the annoying flasher off.
