We go with 2 per person, plus 1 for the boat.

It depends last weekend we picked up seven scoups for three guys. We purchased a mixed batch of the three different kinds of minnows Jeff's had. Saturday we had all day to fish so we were pretty picky with what we keept, at by the time we hit our 150 fish mark we only had about a dozen minnows left. Sunday morning bought another seven scoups for the three of us , we didn't catch as many small fish or as many junk fish by time we were finished up I bet we dumped half the minnows we bought back into the lake.

If he talks you into the goldens than you will only need 1 scoop for 4 people. Otherwise as he told us 2 scoops per man. I would skip the goldens and only get a few mud minnows. The pin head emeralds caught 90% of our fish last Sunday.

Instead of dumping in lake,I will ask a couple of boats around me if they would like them.A couple times last year I went out and it was to rough for me,so I took them back to bait shop and let them resell them.Might as well let somebody make a buck.Just my 2 cents.

There are a couple "concoctions" you can use - I bought a commercial one from amish outfitters - looking forward to trying it.

It sure does make sence . I did seem like a huge waste. B.t.w when we finished up Sunday there were not any boats close to us , I bet someone at the launch would have took them .
