Id been dreaming about making my own pike/musky lures for some time and the stay at home order gave me lots of time. I have done about 30 lures since, all hand carved, thru wire construction, lexan lips, poured lead, airbrushed, and epoxy finished. Its been lots of fun and my 11 year old boy has helped along the way. I plan on starting a small business doing this one day and possibly hitting some small gun shows wich i never find anything to buy. Anyhow heres some pics, made from cedar and only the best components are used.....if nothing else they will be great xmas presents that are made not bought!

Also plan on making up some do it yourself fishing lure kits for kids at the campground to pass some of their time or could be a great cub scout project. I have made several style blanks to choose from, I will package with the blank, drilled for .072 SS screw eyes wich will be included, a pinned lexan lip, hooks, instructions and couple squares of sand paper 20200521_155237.jpg

Those look really cool. How much water testing did you do to dial in the action you wanted? Or is that still to come?

Lots of reading and fiddling with the lip angle and profile, the internet has just about everything you need along with some unbelievable craftsman on YouTube

Testing in my pool and local ponds, hopefully gunna feed some fish this weekend 20200524_163607.jpg 20200524_153134.jpg

I just purchased an airbrush setup and a updraft booth, between lure components and paint stuff this hasn't been cheap. Im doing it for the love of it, its been alot of fun and maybe when I retire I can make a go at it!

Bad thing is now the boy wants to pike fish, even though weve been crushing the walleye! 20200523_144147.jpg

That spray booth sure looks familiar. You buy that in St Clair?
