A few weeks back there was a thread about high water in Whitehall and some pictures from Harbor Island in Grand Haven.

We were at historic lows in 2013.

It’s absolutely amazing how much the water level has increased. Last month I read on Wood TV8 that Lake Michigan levels have increased 66” since 2013. I’m sure there has been an increase of 4” since that report.

All I know is that Spectrum is having fun with their hourly EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM notices screaming the flood warnings across my television today.

I get it already, it's raining outside.

All that water that WAS locked up in mountain/glacier & sea ice, has to be somewhere in the world. I remember when it read WATER-WINTER WONDERLAND on our license plates~!

The west side of LSC is up about 6” in the last few days, but the east side isn’t up that much. Up in Algonac we are about 2” up in the same time period. The east wind had the water level at the western end up Erie up about a foot and a half which is damming the whole system up. But the DR in Gibraltar has dropped about 6” since this morning.

Many roads in our area have washed out. Some homes are gone. The rivers are already to record levels and rain is being called for until tomorrow. Banks are collapsing into our lake. The town of Prescott has nearly disappeared. Several areas in the county can't drink their water or flush their toilets. The sheriff dept. has just closed the road coming into our home. I am glad that we are on high ground. U.S. 23 in Omer is flooded over and traffic can't get over the bridge.
