Well it's about 2/3 covered, and the rest is steaming pretty hard. Forcast is 10° or colder and calm all week.

Might be an early one this year !

I will be watching it. I live about a mile from West launch.

Going to have a look at the shelf on the south end tomorrow. See if we can get to the pike.

Couple nice Lakers there. There was a lot of 18-20" trout last year, hopefully they grew a little.

Fished it for the lakers last year and had a blast. Heading up tomorrow to Atlanta and Hillman for a few days then late January for Higgins.

Let me know on the shelf I never fished the south end last year for Pike....only had a week of ice before I had to go back to work from layoff!

Is there any ice shanty rentals up there? Looking for some place to take my son and Dad for a long weekend.

Houghton lake has rentals. Even overnight shanties at Lymans on the Lake.

Shanties are priced $60 to $80 for daily, depending on shanty size, and $125 for sleepers. Price includes heat, shanty shuttle and we auger the holes.
