Well we can argue who should be the next coach, but the fact is the losing mentality is so ingrained in Detroit, it would take a lot more than a good coach to change that. The odd part of that is, how are they going to change that losing mentality if they can't find a way to win. I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes but it never seemed like it was good with Patricia. If anyone wants to check, but I don't think there has been one Belichek offspring that has been any good anywhere else. If they could find a coach that walks in with respect from the players, they may have a chance to turn it around, who that is? Don't know, maybe pull one old coach off the bench, does the name Sherman mean anything?

horrible, this will set us back years. we were in year 3 of a 4 year plan. next year was ours. now we will have to start out all over again. I hope the next new coach and general manager are given enough time to restore the roar. If the offensive coordinator as head coach can finally establish AP up the middle we might have a chance for a wild card game. all the bones are there for a championship team built by Quinn and Patricia. the new coach will walk into a cakewalk with all the rebuilding that has gone on.

Too little too late. Quinn stripped the team of talent because players butted heads with a brash head coach.
The next move all starts with hiring a competent GM. Someone with a history of building rosters from ashes. Someone like Ed Dodds maybe?

My bet is on the interim coach. He will probably have a winning record for the rest of the year and the Fords will sign him to a long term contract.

You got that right. It sure seems to be on a regular schedule dosent it?
Like you can set the time in history by when the coaches get fired.
I’m guessing next coach is toast come end of 2024 season.

    wash rinse repeat.

My grandson looked it up. Since the day's of Buddy Parker to the present, the Detroit Lions have had 18 head coaches. the Pittsburgh Steelers...........3. That alone has to have some sort of meaning.

And none of our head coaches went on to be a head coach again.

In essence the Lions have changed ownership several times in the last decade. You had dad, son, mother and now daughter.

I think Sheila might be different? Most of the previous would of let the year grind out. Then look for a coach. At that time it could be a rush pick. Now they can watch the coaches still playing and see their performance live. I think Rod Wood Needs to go too.

I am a Stafford fan but, I am ready to deal him too.

I know they have not gave us much hope based on past performance but, lets not start being negative about the new hire until he proves his worth or stink. I know the players feel the negativity around Detroit.

Bye bye Stafford(kneeler).... Pink slip his azz... He Gone.. Chicken scratch on paper is not worth putting him in for any more starts. 3rd string QB You'd be surprised how much effort the under rated/overlooked put into it.

Stafford is a good quarterback but not the long term solution anymore. Will be 33 in February and has taken a beating during his career. He's tough as they come but eventually he'll break down and is already past his prime.

All have our own Opinions. Decent QB will be his best achieved award. Tough as they come??? Oh boy not even close. He has not Won games for the Lions(Fact) which like it or not puts him the Losers bracket. Whatever the stats say it still shows a 0-16 team everytime the name is said. QB and or Captain run so called teams. Stafford ran nothing. Maybe high school star. Friday night lights are over...Time for Stafford to run home....
