I posted this in the favorite foods thread but I decided to post it here also as many people fish pike through the ice. My wife grilled this pike like she would salmon, she seasoned it with salmon magic, and grilled it quickly. She and I both thought it had more of a sea food texture and taste vs a fish flavor. We will definitely do this again! Sent from my iPhone using Michigan Sportsman mobile app
I've eaten pike many times and besides taking time to fillet out the y bones, it's as good as any other higher end fish. Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk
Agreed. I like both, but eat mostly pike as I probably catch them 3 or 4 to 1 over walleye. My brother has quite a few Canadian fly-in trips under his belt and he told me that during the outfitter's shore lunches where they fry up both species, it's more common for those going back for seconds, or thirds to request the pike. That being said, I'm not turnin my nose up at either.
pike has become one of my favorite food fish. we sometimes do it in the oven with a pesto sauce, that is out standing
