Great Lakes Pike and Walleye

    You can fish pike and walleye all year long on the great lakes in the LP but the season is closed March 15 in the UP. This is an old law that really needs to be revisited. There is no shortage of fish in the UP and no reason there is a closed season in the Great Lakes on these fish. Many businesses could use the extra income from a year long season. I really don't think that the fishing pressure will make a difference. I would like the input from the DNR on this as it is really stupid to have open season on one end of a lake and closed season on the other end.
