Anyone ever fish this lake?? going to try this weekend
If it’s the one in Marquette County I think it had a pollution / water quality issue a few years ago due to mining run off.
Dont matter to me i dont want to keep them just catch them
I talked to a father and son fishing there about 2 years ago.. said they caught a handful of walleyes and some panfish .
Be curious to how you do if you care to post.
Very slow marked a few fish
But ended up with a 12" sucker
Thanks for the report.
Was there any other fishermen?
Do you think you might give it a second try sometime?
No other people fishing. I might fish it again i live very close to it.
Well good luck.... give us a report if you happen to go again.
Ever ice fish any of the lakes near Gwinn?
The goooooseee! I wouldnt waste much time there. Went there a few times maybe 3 with the boys for some sundown beers and fished off the train tracks. 9 lines out, Usually get a good walleye or two but overall is super slow.
I remember talking to a guy a couple years ago .
Told me he also fished by the train tracks around sundown.
Said he caught a bunch of the hugest bullheads he’d ever seen.
I know there is much better lakes to fish. But for me its just one of those places were i dont feel like traveling to far if i just want to fish for couple hours
I have a few by me like that.
They are close and it’s just good to get out without driving far or spending a lot of time getting there.
And every once in awhile I suprise myself and do pretty good.
How far is Goose lake from you?
A few minutes. Live not to far from econo foods
Kind of sad reading these reports. In my opinion Goose lake was one of the best perch lakes in the U.P. in the 60s and 70s
Have you made it back out to Goose Lake lately?
