It was slow so with only 4 tree rats in four hr but the shot placement on them was near perfect. One in the ear hole at 65 yds and one in the mouth taking out the bottom jaw at about 75 yds. Love that 17 hmr

That's about what I've ' been seeing, 1 per hour. Getting 2-3 per day. Tuesday might be my last day.
Been trying out the 4/10 the last few days.

If the question is is a 17 like a 410 then no. A 17 hmr is similar to a rim fire 22 mag rifle but more velocity and super accurate . Unless u have to shot thru lots of leaves the 17 is the best squirrel hunting game in my opinion cuz it’s super accurate for close shots and can routinely hit targets at 75 yds or more with little to no “aiming high” it’s a tack driver with a more scope. I regularly shoot pigeons off silos at my dads farm with my 17. Best part is head shot r very doable within 150 yds. Everyone who squirrel hunts should have one especially good for squirrels that get smart and stay out of effect 22 range
