Calculate the number of snacks, then triple it! I started taking my kids when they were the same age.

I thought you were going to stick a 4 year old in a layout boat. My first question was going to be if you were trying to get divorced.

Started taking my son at three. Ear protection of course. Shot a couple of geese then he missed mommy. Packed it up and left. Keep the hunt about him having fun and nothing else.

Definitely do it, I took my now 5 year old last year with me into flooded corn (of course it was the coldest darn day of season) and he had a blast. He had been bugging me to go, I told him it was gonna be cold and tough, he said "i can do it dad" lol. I bundled him up and sat him on a dog stand between my brother and I and he sat very still to my surprise, he had his eyes to the sky and plugged his ears when birds came in, it was awesome! Every time we dropped a bird he was yelling "yeah baby we got one", it was the coolest thing I've experienced in the field so far. He is already claiming his spot in the boat for this season, (thanks to GK Calls) he now has a duck call he will be bringing along so that's gonna be an adventure i'm sure. Can't wait!
