Once the weather gets a little warmer I would like to hit the flint river for the first time on the fly. I live in fenton, what would be the best way to access the river and wade it.

Going for walleye? There’s a park in downtown Flushing that you could get in. Also there was a golf course upstream that had a good amount of river to fish. That’s where we’d walleye fish in the spring. There is a river trail now that might get you on the water too. We never waded though, water was usually high and muddy during the best fishing. Summer can be fun for all species, when water levels go down to safely wadable
