Hi all! welcome to 2016 freshwater season!
I hope I am ready!!!
I don't think I am ever "truly" ready for a new fishing season:
-I still have jigs to tie
-I still have flies to tie
-I still have in-line spinners to assemble
-I still have to learn about all the species up here, since I'm only familiar with the species in Oklahoma....
Going to try and get out this weekend. Weather is looking decent for sure.
Have been happy to post results in the ice fishing thread this winter. Looking forward to being able to report in this thread over the summer as my new boat/kayak is being delivered tomorrow. I purchased an old town predator xl minn kota and after a couple weeks of getting it registered, rigged up with rod holders & electronics, should have her on the lake soon. Good luck to everyone. I know I've got the itch!
any docks go in yet in lenawee ?
I would recommend going to the SOS in Jackson Crossing. Just snag a ticket and then go walk around and have lunch. It is a pain getting a new registration... all that for a a $15 reg
I was just there this morning. FINALLY managed to get my MI Driver's License today. I was there 15 minutes before they opened. Called the number on the sign, answered the questions on the recording, and had my phone number up on the queue before they even opened the doors. In and out in 15 minutes!
Now I need to get a fishing license.....
I just moved to Jackson in Aug 2015. I've been out ice fishing on Gilletts. Still learning the area, as well. Are you living in the city?
going to get the boat on the water today to test a motor repair and catch some bait, good luck on the softwater season everyone!
I'm in Vandercook. Gillett's isn't that far away; I've been planning on dropping my kayak in there, along with other places.
I almost drive to center and out in today ....still might.
Wow can't type on my phone today.
Almost drove to Center and put in today.
I've only duck huntered there. We are pretty close, I am over by Walfarts.
anyone CATCH ANYTHING YET?
I have not tried yet been busy and still need to restock, rerig, or make fishable a nice 89 starcraft 18 ft closed bow I picked up late fall, still have the 16 ft. 40 hp to take out too, but usually do good off the shore fishing
MY CUZ went out to private lake that was catching walleye ice fishing but got skunked
Went to local lake with the fam. We didn't catch anything, but two local guys did. Pulled a limit of very good sized gills.
