So I'm federally licensed Mortgage lender with FBI background check, fingerprinted, CPL holder. Never ever been in trouble with the law. Tonight I get rejected to purchase a 350 Legend. So confused, any advice on how to combat this. Thanks Kannon
Try another time or go elsewhere, some denials are random. Hasn't happened to me but it did to a buddy that is a police officer. His approval came through the next day.
I made my final last purchase of a firearm at the Dunhams' located in Allen Park(W. Outer Dr. east of Southfield fwy). Always got the run around and delayed authorization to purchase. Last time it took 45 minutes for the Nics check and then another half hour waiting for Dunhams' to get authorization from their Corporate Office(so they claim). Why they would need to contact them I have no idea. Finally told them to cancel the purchase and they chased after me in the parking lot to give me my gun!
You weren't "turned down" as the title says. You were randomly put on a 3 day hold. Same thing happened to me this summer. Definitely an inconvenience, but it has nothing to do with your personal record. Wait until you are cleared and go get your gun
I would check with that gun store or FFL and make sure it was a denial and not just a delay. If it was an actual denial you can appeal. If you have a common name and didn't put your SS number on the 4473 form, delays are very common. https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/n...inal-background-check-system-nics-appeals-vaf
Alot of delays on purchase this year. Before this year never had an issue. This year I was delayed twice. Sent from my SM-N960U using Michigan Sportsman mobile app
I also had a "temporary" denial for my .45acp. The dealer gave me a copy of the law with instruction on how to deal with it. Dealer said it happens infrequently and I should wait for 5 days to a week before doing anything. Sure enough, dealer called me 5 days later and we completed the sale. Then the cop shop was closed due to C-19 so I couldn't finish registering the gun as required. I called the cop shop and they sent me an email with an address and contact name to send in the paperwork and they'll take care of it.
